TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF-
I am a portrait photographer that specializes in seniors, families, weddings, and events. I love to capture the emotion, attitudes, and personalities of each person that graces the front of my lens. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to capture each moment in time for each of my clients.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN OF MEMBER OF METRO PPA?
I became a member of MetroPPA in 2014.
WHY DO YOU DECIDE TO JOIN METRO PPA?
I was new to the photography industry. I wanted to network and learn as much as I could to better my craft.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF BEING A MEMBER OF METRO PPA?
I have made lifelong friends and learned many things from so many speakers.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE METRO PPA EVENT AND WHY?
I love all the education, but the miniature class has been my favorite thus far. That class made me slow down and think about what I was doing, you could work alone or collaborate with friends. I also love to attend the Thirsty Thursdays where you can socialize and network in a more relaxed setting.
HOW DID YOU BECOME INTERESTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY?
I was a real soccer mom taking photos of her daughter playing soccer. I borrowed a friend's DSLR and soon bought my own.
WHAT TYPE OF PHOTOGRAPHY DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN AND WHY?
I specialize in seniors and families.
WHAT’S THE BEST PIECE OF CAREER ADVICE YOU EVER RECEIVED?
If you’re not uncomfortable you’re not growing. This quote is always in the back of my mind when I am challenged to learn new things.
WHAT’S ONE SKILL YOU’D LIKE TO DEVELOP OR SHARPEN THIS YEAR?
I have been learning street photography and have been enjoying that.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE JUST STARTING A PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS? OR WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE JUST STARTING TO LEARN PHOTOGRAPHY?
Everyone should network and shadow other photographers. You can learn something from everyone even if it’s one (1) small pearl of wisdom or a new way of doing something.
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST (OR ONE OF YOUR BIGGEST) PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT(S) SO FAR?
I obtained my Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) certification from the Professional Photographers Association (PPA).
WHEN YOU ARE NOT WORKING WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO SPEND YOUR TIME DOING?
I have been traveling with a group of photographers to areas in Okla on day trips. I love spoiling my grand Princess.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PHOTOGRAPHY TIP?
I would have to say learning from other photographers. Watch them work, how they shoot, their mannerisms, and how they move and listen to them interact with their clients.
Head on a Swivel, always look around up, down, and side to side. Get low angles and high angles for a different perspective.
WHAT IS YOUR GO TO PIECE OF EQUIPMENT?
Love my FujiFilm X gear. The XE3 is my daily camera with the FujiFilm 35mm 1.4 lens.
