MANDY WOMACK

Vice-President

Mandy Womack is a multi-award-winning photographer, on both the state and local levels of competition, and she is deeply thankful for those successes and has never forgotten the humble beginnings of where she started. She grew up in a small farming community on 70 acres of land, the only child to her parents, and helped her mom and dad raise horses, cattle, chickens, pigs, sheep, cats, and dogs, throughout the different stages of growing up. She later showed Simmental heifers and Cross-Bred lambs through the FFA(Future Farmer’s of America) program. She was always drawn to color, and was very adept at abstract art, even at a young age. She took her first photograph of her mom with a polaroid camera when she was 3, it was clear and one of her mom’s favorite pictures. The first camera she owned was a Christmas gift in 2nd grade, a 110 film camera, and just like Mandy, it was colorful, it was pink, gray, yellow, and lavender. She immediately started taking candid, journalistic type photos of her friends at school, entered a photo contest, and won a first-place ribbon in 2nd grade.

Her mom told her she was great with her colors, and abstract art and she continued to win photo contests through an art class and the 4-H program, but it took her until the age of approximately 33, to figure out that colors, art, and her photography skills, all went together, and that she was born to be an artist and photographer, to keep people’s memories alive, and to make people, women especially, to feel good, even better, about themselves.

She needed her youngest son to have memories of his 1st and possibly last time to play football, in the 5th grade and the coach wasn’t worried about pictures, so she dove off the cliff, bought a camera, & started taking classes to learn all she could, out of a deep respect for the photography industry, took those team photos, and the rest, as “they” say…is history. She does not specialize, as she wants to be able to capture all the love, joy, laughter & memories. She started with sports & added weddings, as she loves the love of the day. She’s also incredibly happy photographing small children, high school seniors, families, & babies. Events are energetic and fun! She dreams of photographing in Italy and Ireland one day. She lost her mom to Alzheimer’s in 2016, and she is well aware of how important it is to have those photos to treasure forever, as she didn’t take “The Portrait” and has only cell phone photos to enhance in photoshop, to last forever. Mandy is working on obtaining her CPP and Craftsman degrees and will be seeking her Master and Artist degrees down the road. She enjoys teaching basic photoshop, the importance of self-motivation, in-person education, customer service & gratitude in the industry, along with other encouraging topics.
