What happens when we stop asking, “What should I photograph?” and start asking, “What do I want to say?”
In Stay Wondrous: The Art of Becoming, Andrea Calvery takes photographers beyond technique and into the heart of creativity—learning to trust their own ideas, find inspiration in unexpected places, and create work that feels personal and meaningful.
Through storytelling, imagery, creative exercises, and a live shooting demonstration, Andrea will share her journey from photographer to multidisciplinary artist and explore how photography can become the starting point for something much bigger.
Attendees will be encouraged to play again, experiment without needing to know the outcome, develop their own visual voice, and begin seeing themselves not simply as photographers—but as artists.
The program will include a live creative shoot using continuous light and a flowing dress, demonstrating how Andrea approaches movement, emotion, composition, and the beginnings of an image that can later become a finished piece of art.
Above all, this program is about giving yourself permission to create.
Andrea Calvery is an award-winning fine art photographer, multidisciplinary artist, speaker, and educator based in Texas. A Fellow Photographer with The Portrait Masters, Andrea has built a career that moves fluidly between photography, mixed media, encaustic work, conceptual art, and teaching.
