There’s no better way to hone your skills than putting your images to the test in a photo competition evaluated by trained jurors who evaluate images against a set of 12 elements. The jurors review your image and provide you with constructive feedback, so you know just where and how to improve
The Metro PPA Annual Open Image Competition is right around the corner. We have updated the image categories and awards to be in line with the PPA’s rules for IPC (International Photographic Competition). This helps you test your images at a local level before entering these larger competitions.
Image Competition is a great learning opportunity whether you enter, or just attend to watch the judging. In the judging room, watching an image competition is done in silence. However, this year we are introducing Club79 which is more like a watch party. There will be games, door prizes, and emceed by Mr. Tony Corbell.
Tony is a world renowned photographer, educator, author and Beatles fan. We hope you will come to learn, and be entertained from this master of photography. Tony will walk you through the judging process in a fun, entertaining, and educational way. At Club 79, there is no need to suppress your feelings of joy or excitement. Feel free to celebrate when you do well with your friends, and if you are frustrated, you can commiserate with your fellow artists.
